Pair charged after police seize £200,000 of cocaine and £80,000 in cash

A man and a woman have been arrested after police found £200,000 of cocaine and more than £80,000 in cash during searches of property and a car.

Officers stopped the car at about 12.55pm on Thursday as it was travelling southbound on the A90 near the Glendoick junction in Perth and Kinross.

They searched the vehicle and discovered more than £20,000 in cash.

Officers then executed a warrant at an address in the Earn Drive area of Tibbermore, near Perth, and arrested a 25-year-old man.

A further property in Honeywell Grove in Stepps, North Lanarkshire, was searched under warrant, and cocaine worth an estimated £200,000 was seized, along with more than £60,000 in cash.

The man and a 29-year-old woman also arrested have been charged with alleged money laundering and drug offences, and both are due to appear in court in due course.
