Woman who died after Inverness disturbance named

A 52-year-old woman who died after a disturbance in Inverness has been named by police.

Miriam MacDonald died on Monday after an incident in Craigton Avenue the previous day.

She was taken to Raigmore Hospital alongside a 55-year-old man, but she died in hospital.

The man remains in hospital and medical staff say he is being treated for serious injuries.

Ms MacDonald’s family have asked for privacy.

Police Scotland said a 30-year-old man appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court on Tuesday charged in connection with the death.
