Man, 46, due in court after Edinburgh disturbance

A 46-year-old man is due to appear in court charged over a disturbance that led to a woman and baby being taken to hospital and nearby homes evacuated.

At around 9am on Saturday, officers were called out to a disturbance on St Leonard’s Street in Edinburgh.

Specialist officers, including firearms officers, attended and a 46-year-old man was arrested and later charged in connection with the incident.

A 38-year-old woman and a baby were taken to hospital as a precaution.

The man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.
