Two more arrests in relation to suspected gang feud

Two more arrests have been made in relation to a suspected gang feud.

Police raided a home in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, on Friday and arrested a 39-year-old man and 37-year-old woman in relation to a wilful fire-raising of a car in Glasgow on April 30.

Both will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date.

This takes the total number of arrests in relation Operation Portaledge – the name of the police initiative to investigate violent incidents in Scotland’s central belt – to 54.

Incidents including assaults, fire-bombings and shootings began earlier this year in Edinburgh, before spreading across the central belt.
