Firefighters work through night tackling recycling centre blaze

Firefighters have worked through the night tackling a blaze at a recycling centre.

Emergency services were called to the scene in London Road in Glasgow at around 8pm on Wednesday.

Nearby residents have been advised to keep their doors and windows closed due to levels of smoke in the area.

At the height of the incident six appliances, a high reach appliance and specialist resources were at the scene, the fire service said.

Three fire engines and a high reach appliance were still tackling the blaze at 6.30am on Thursday.

There were no reports of any casualties.

Police said that London Road, was closed from Methven Street to Maukinfauld Road due to the fire.
