A man has been charged after the death of a woman in a village in East Ayrshire.
Police said Michelle Thomson, 47, was pronounced dead after officers were called to an address in Newmilns on Tuesday, shortly after midday.
They had received reports of an injured woman inside the property.
Police Scotland said a 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with her death.
He will appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday.
Police said a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
