Three children taken to hospital after trailer collides with pram in Dumfries

Police are appealing for information after a trailer collided with a pram in Dumfries injuring three young children.

The three children, aged eight months, 14 months and 18 months, were taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.

They were then taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Glasgow where their injuries are being assessed.

The 18-year-old woman pushing the pram was also taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.

The incident took place in Pleasance Avenue and was reported to police around 3.15pm on Monday.

It involved a trailer which is believed to have become detached from a Mitsubishi Outlander car and struck a pram which was being pushed on the pavement.

The road is currently closed to allow for an investigation at the scene.

Sergeant David Kerr, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our inquiries into this incident are ongoing and we would urge anyone who has witnessed it to come forward.

“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area.”
