A 51-year-old man was taken to hospital after he was hit by a car in what police believe was an intentional hit-and-run.
The man was struck by the vehicle in Drumchapel, Glasgow, at about 1pm on Monday.
Detectives have said the vehicle involved was a small, red car but said they have no further details on the make or model.
No other injuries were reported after the incident in Dalsetter Avenue.
The car left the scene before police arrived and inquiries are ongoing to trace it and the driver.
Detective Inspector Scott Boyle said: “We are appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward and speak to officers.
“I’d also ask that those driving in the area at the time review their dashcam footage for anything that could assist with our investigation.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1370 of October 13. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
