Man, 20, in critical condition as two others hurt in Edinburgh crash

A 20-year-old man is in hospital in a critical condition following a crash in the west of Edinburgh during the early hours of Thursday.

Police said a black Suzuki Jimny car struck a building on Drum Brae Terrace at about 1.30am.

The 20-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where staff said his condition is critical.

The driver, an 18-year-old man, and another passenger, aged 19, were treated in hospital for minor injuries.

Sergeant Grant Hastie said: “Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are asking people in the area to check any private CCTV from the surrounding streets to see if they have captured anything that could assist.

“If you were driving in the area please also check to see if you have any dashcam that might help with our investigation.”

Anyone with information has been asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
