A man has been charged after the body of a woman was found after a fire in a Dundee flat.
Emergency services were called to the burning property at about 7.25am, where firefighters extinguished the fire and found the body of a 37-year-old woman inside.
The 26-year-old man was arrested and has now been charged in connection with the death.
A Police Scotland statement said: “Emergency services attended, the fire was extinguished and a 37-year-old woman who was within the property was later pronounced dead.
“Following a post-mortem examination, the woman’s death is being treated as murder and her family is being supported by specially trained officers.”
The man will appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday.
