Irn-Bru guarantees white Christmas for one household ahead of advert airing

Irn-Bru has said it will guarantee a white Christmas for at least one lucky household this year, ahead of the soft drink’s annual festive advert airing this Sunday.

Irn-Bru plans to create “a full festive winter-wonderland” in at least one family’s home in time for December 25.

STV weather presenter Sean Batty announced the move, issuing a “ginger weather warning” for the festive period.

A Christmas advert for Irn-Bru has aired regularly since 2006, featuring a reimagining of the Snowman from the 1978 picture book by Raymond Briggs.

Batty said: “Low pressure but high excitement is moving in from the north, bringing with it the Irn-Bru Snowman advert.

“Expect snowy conditions and frosty festive feels, with the countdown to Christmas officially beginning.

“I can also officially announce at least one home in Scotland will wake up to a white Christmas, as Irn-Bru promises a snowy spectacle to celebrate the return of our frozen friend. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!”

Kenny Nicholson, director of brand at Irn-Bru, said: “We’ve enlisted the help of Scotland’s most famous weather expert to forecast the return of the nation’s most loved Christmas advert.

“What better way to mark the Irn-Bru Snowman being back on our screens than pledging to make a white Christmas a reality for one household.

“We’ve got a snow squad on standby to turn that festive dream into something unforgettable for one lucky home.”

The Irn-Bru advert will air during the first episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, and the soft drink’s social media pages will have details on how Scots can have a chance to have their gardens transformed for Christmas.
