Health Secretary Neil Gray has urged people to get vaccinated as flu cases surge.
Figures released by Public Health Scotland last week showed a 45% increase in cases, with new statistics expected to be released on Thursday.
Speaking to BBC Radio Scotland, Mr Gray pushed for more people to get jabbed as he rejected suggestions there is not enough vaccine in Scotland.
He said: “We have vaccinated already one million adults and 400,000 children.
“I obviously want to see more people vaccinated, and particularly staff in health and social care services.
“That has been a particular challenge in recent years, so I know that health boards are expanding their peer-to-peer vaccination, looking to bring vaccinations into workplaces and also to look to provide drop-in clinics for members of the public as well.
To prevent the spread of flu, we continue to recommend regular handwashing and advise people with symptoms of respiratory illness to stay off work or school until you’re feeling better.

“It is really important that people do get vaccinated.”
Pushed on whether there is a shortage of vaccines as people across the country report struggling to obtain the jabs, the Health Secretary said: “We have no concern on vaccination supplies across Scotland.”
While face masks are being brought back in healthcare settings, Mr Gray said the best way to protect against this year’s more virulent strain of flu is by getting vaccinated.
