Police appealing for information after car set alight

Police have launched an investigation after a car was set alight intentionally in Cumbernauld.

Officers responded to reports of an Audi A1 on fire outside a property in Old Tower Road at around 1am on Wednesday.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and nobody was reported injured.

Detective Constable Martin Daly of Police Scotland said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information which could help to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have dashcam or private CCTV which could assist to contact us.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 0157 of December 3.
