An 87-year-old woman who died in a crash in Linlithgow has been named by police.

Isabella Cordner, 87, known as Isa, died at the scene when the SUV she was a passenger in collided with a red Honda Civic.

Ms Cordner was travelling in a silver Volkswagen T-Roc on the A706 near Carriber Mill, West Lothian, when the crash happened on December 5.

A 21-year-old man who was driving the Honda Civic was also seriously injured and taken to hospital following the crash which happened at about 7pm.

The road was closed for eight hours to allow investigations to take place and was re-opened at about 2am on December 6.

Sergeant Barry Sommerville, of Police Scotland, said: “Our thoughts remain with Isa’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.

“Our investigation into the crash is ongoing and I’d again appeal to anyone who was driving in the area at the time and who has not yet spoken to officers to get in touch.

“We are also looking to speak to the driver of a Range Rover who was driving along the road around the time of the crash.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2701 of December 5.
