The family of an 85-year-old woman killed in a road crash have said they are “absolutely devastated” by her death.
Joan Gansh was walking on Dundee Road West in Broughty Ferry, Dundee, when she was involved in a collision with a silver Ford Transit van.
The grandmother was pronounced died at the scene of the incident, at about 5.25pm on Saturday.
The driver of the van was uninjured.
In a statement released through Police Scotland, her family said: “The family of Joan Gansh are absolutely devastated at the sad loss of their mum, mum-in-law, gran, auntie, sister and sister-in-law in such a tragic way.
“Joan was the wife of the late Douglas Gansh and lived at Southampton Road, Dundee.”
Sergeant David Farr, of Police Scotland road policing east, said: “Our thoughts remain with Joan’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.
“I would appeal again to anyone who witnessed the crash and is yet to give a statement to officers to please come forward.
“We know that the road was very busy at the time and would ask that anyone who saw Joan or the van prior to the crash get in touch with us with any information.
“Additionally, I’d ask those with dashcam footage or private CCTV, please review this to see if it has captured anything that can assist with our investigation.”
The road was closed for six hours following the incident while investigations took place.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2579 of December 13.
