Man killed in crash in Scottish Borders

A man has been killed in a crash in the Scottish Borders.

The crash on the B6397 near Kelso involved a black Vauxhall Astra and happened at around 7.40pm on Saturday.

The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed and reopened at around 4.40am on Sunday.

Sergeant Jamie Humpage said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the person who has died at this difficult time.

“Inquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.

“We’d also ask anyone driving in the area with dashcam footage to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 2873 of Saturday, 20 December, 2025.
