Fire affecting ‘multiple’ heavy goods vehicles in Fife

Police and fire crews are at the scene of a vehicle fire affecting “multiple” vehicles in Fife.

The fire, which is affecting heavy goods vehicles and trailers, broke out some time around 9am on Sunday in the Harbour View area of Methil.

The fire is contained and there are no reported injuries.

The area between Harbour View and South Street has since reopened.

Members of the public are asked to avoid the area where possible, and residents have been asked to stay indoors and keep windows shut.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), said: “We were alerted at 9.11am on Sunday to reports of a fire affecting multiple heavy goods vehicles and trailers in Methil, Fife.

“Operations control has seven appliances at the scene. There are no reported casualties.

“Due to the smoke, the public has have been asked to avoid the area and locals have been asked to stay indoors with their windows shut. “
