Police are searching for a person who stole a car in Arbroath which later crashed in Dundee.

A blue BMW 320 was stolen from outside a property on an unnamed road off the A92 at Inverkeilor between 7pm and 8pm on Sunday, officers said.

The same car later crashed into a wall in Pitkerro Road, Dundee, around 9.10pm the same day.

The car was then traced in Bingham Terrace in the city a short time later.

The driver left the scene prior to police arrival. No injuries have been reported.

Police constable Kim Ross said: “Inquiries are ongoing to trace the driver of the car, and we are appealing to anyone with information to get in touch.

“I’d ask that those with private CCTV or dashcam footage in any of the areas mentioned check this for a car matching the description.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 3179 of December 28.

Alternatively, people can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
