Police name man and woman who died after two-vehicle crash

A man and woman who died following a two-vehicle crash in Fife have been named by police.

The collision happened on the B981 between Cluny and the Chapel junction roundabout at around 11.10pm on Friday December 19.

Police said Jatinder Kaur, 48, who was driving a white Volkswagen Polo, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Satwant Singh, 64, was taken to hospital and died on Sunday December 21.

Two other passengers were also taken to hospital and released following treatment.

The 33-year-old woman police said was driving the other vehicle, a black Nissan Qashqai, was taken to hospital and released following treatment.

She was arrested in connection with an alleged road traffic offence.

Police are appealing for information about the crash.

Sergeant Louise Beale said: “Our thoughts remain with the family of the man and woman who died. They have asked for privacy at what is a very hard time for them.

“Our inquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances and we are asking anyone who can assist who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch.”

The two people who died were both from the Kirkcaldy area.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3935 of December 19.
