Video ‘shows activists vandalising site with links to aerospace company’

Footage has been posted online appearing to showing pro-Palestine activists vandalising a factory near Edinburgh over its ties with an aerospace firm allegedly linked with the Israeli military.

Police said they were alerted to the incident at Bruntons Aero Products facility in Musselburgh shortly after midnight on Thursday.

The video, which was posted on X on January 1, shows masked figures using a sledgehammer and fire extinguisher to smash computer and assembly line equipment, and throwing computer monitors across an office.

One shot shows a figure spray-painting the words “There’s only one way this ends” on the side of a piece of machinery.

The post accompanying the video indicates the company was targeted because it supplies aerospace firm Leonardo UK, which produces a laser targeting system for F-35 combat aircraft, which are used by Israel.

The post read: “Scottish pro Palestine activists vandalised an Edinburgh area factory linked to the F35 program in the first hours of 2026.

“The pro Palestinian group broke into the Bruntons Aero Products facility in Musselburgh, damaging CNC machines, servers, and computers.

“Graffiti left at the site read ‘There’s only one way this ends’.

“The group said Bruntons was targeted for supplying Leonardo, which produces laser targeting systems for F35 jets and military equipment used by Israel.”

On its LinkedIn page, Bruntons describes itself as “a specialist manufacturer of aerospace component parts, based in the UK”, and that it supplies components to firms including BAE Systems and Leonardo.

The break-in comes after similar incidents in October at the Edinburgh offices of Leonardo UK and security firm Securitas.

Leonardo UK has previously said it is “subject to UK Government export controls”, and that it does not supply equipment directly to Israel.

In a widely-reported statement, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.35am on Thursday January 1, 2026, officers received a report of a break-in and damage at a premises on Eskmills Road, Musselburgh.

“Inquiries are ongoing.”

Bruntons Aero Products has been approached for comment.
