Police investigating the murder of a father shot dead in his home have gathered 1,200 hours of CCTV footage as investigations continue.
Jordan Gray, 26, was found dead at his home in Shields Court, Motherwell, on December 15 having suffered fatal firearm injuries the previous night.
Police launched a murder inquiry and revisited the area on Sunday January 11, four weeks on from the murder, in the hope of jogging people’s memories.
They are continuing efforts to identify a person seen in Shields Court at about 10.35pm on Sunday December 14 who was wearing dark trousers and a dark jacket with the hood up.
Detective Superintendent Grant Hendry, of the major investigation team, said: “This person may have vital information which could help us get answers for Jordan’s family and trace the person responsible for his death.
“If you were in the area at the time, and think that description matches you, please come forward.
“Even if it’s just so we can eliminate you from our inquiries, we want to speak to you.”
Officers have been conducting door-to-door inquiries as investigations continue and have also gathered 1,200 hours of CCTV footage.
During the stop and talk operation on Sunday, detectives from the major investigation team and local uniformed officers spoke to about 120 people.
Police urged anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
Mr Hendry said: “We’re investigating the murder of a young man in his own home. I understand this is a concerning incident for people living in the area.
“I want to continue to reassure them that we have a dedicated team of specialist officers working on this, using all available resources, to trace the person responsible and get answers for Jordan’s family.
“While there’s a lot happening behind the scenes, it’s important we keep a visible presence in the area.
“I’d like to thank residents for their continued support and patience as our inquiries progress.
“Information about who is responsible for Jordan’s death may be known within the community.
“I want to again appeal to anyone who hasn’t already spoken to police, and knows or has heard anything, to come forward.
“It doesn’t matter how insignificant you feel that information is, or if you think we’ll already know, I’m asking you to please report it.”
In a previous statement, Mr Gray’s mother, Lynn Gray, said the family is “devastated at the loss of Jordan”.
His father, John Lindsay, said: “Jordan was a loving and doting father and son. Please if anyone has any information, however large or small, contact police.”
