Police still searching for missing man one month on

Efforts to trace a 33-year-old man who has been missing for a month are still under way, police have said.

Jason Anderson was last seen at around 10.20pm on James Taylor Avenue in the village of Catrine, East Ayrshire, on Friday December 12.

Officers said “extensive inquiries” remain ongoing to locate the man since he was reported missing on Thursday December 18.

Police Scotland said they have been carrying out door-to-door inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage in the local area.

Searches have been supported by specialist resources, including the police helicopter and drones, as well as the Dive and Marine Unit and mountain rescue teams.

Mr Anderson is described as being around 5ft 7in, of medium build with short, fair hair.

He was last seen wearing a black Terminal V jumper, with a prominent red V on the back, grey joggers and grey trainers.

Chief inspector Stuart Dougan said: “A month has now passed since the last sighting of Jason and we have significant concerns for his wellbeing.

“As our efforts to trace him have continued, our thoughts were with his family and friends who spent the festive period worried about his whereabouts.

“I’d urge anyone who may have seen Jason, or has any information whatever that may assist our inquiries, to please come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked contact police on 101, quoting incident 0991 of December 18.
