A man needed hospital treatment after a vehicle was driven at him in a “violent attack” which police are treating as attempted murder.
The 33-year-old man was targeted in the Saracen Street area of Glasgow at about 10.15pm on Thursday.
Police said the red SUV-type vehicle made off from the scene after the incident.
Emergency services went to the scene and the man was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police are appealing for information about the incident which is being treated as attempted murder.
Detective Sergeant David Whyte said: “This was a violent attack and we are carrying out extensive inquiries to trace the person responsible.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed what happened to please contact us with any information.
“The street would have been fairly busy with passing vehicles, so I would also ask drivers with dash-cams to check footage as this may assist in our inquiries.
“Likewise, anyone with private CCTV around this area is asked to get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting reference 3545 of January 22 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
