A murder inquiry has been launched after a man was “deliberately targeted” during an incident in Glasgow’s Tollcross area, police have said.
James Greenhorn, 61, died after a disturbance in Dalness Close on Monday afternoon.
Detectives are appealing for information and additional police patrols are taking place in the area.
Detective Chief Inspector David Lamont said: “Around 12.25pm on Monday February 9 2026, we were called to Dalness Close in Tollcross, Glasgow, following a report of a disturbance on the street.
“James Greenhorn, 61, from the Tollcross area, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family is aware. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
“We believe that Mr Greenhorn was deliberately targeted. His death is being treated as murder.
“Our investigation is ongoing and we are following a definite line of inquiry.
“Additional patrols are in the area and anyone with concerns or information can speak to any of our officers.”
