Four men have been arrested and charged after police recovered more than a thousand cannabis plants worth almost £320,000.
Detectives raided six addresses in Renfrew and Paisley in Renfrewshire on Thursday, recovering the plants, which varied in maturity.
Police have said the overall estimated value is around £318,700.
The men, aged 28, 31, 37 and 40, will face Paisley Sheriff Court in due course.
Inspector Lorna McLaren said: “This was a substantial recovery and the warrants were executed as a direct result of concerns raised by the local community.
“Cultivations like these often involve dangerous alterations to electricity supplies, which can pose a serious fire risk to the neighbouring properties and put residents and emergency services at risk. This kind of activity is not only illegal, but it can also have very real consequences for the wider community.
“We continue to rely on information from the public, and I would encourage anyone with concerns about drug-related activity in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
