A man was left with “serious injuries” after being assaulted in the Scottish Borders, police have said.
The 35-year-old was attacked in the Northgate area of Peebles on Sunday at about 8.30pm and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police are now trying to trace the two men responsible for the attack and have asked the public for information.
Detective Constable Nicky Batten said: “The incident left the man with serious injuries and we are keen to trace the men responsible.
“We know that there were people in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident and I’d ask those who did to come forward with information.
“I am also appealing to those in the local area who have dash-cam footage or private CCTV to please review this to see if it has captured anything of significance.”
Anyone with information has been asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2728 of February 22.
Alternatively, they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
