A man has been arrested following the death of a 39-year-old man in South Lanarkshire.
Police were called to a property in the village of Kirkmuirhill during the early hours of Sunday morning, having been told that a man had died.
Part of the street was cordoned off as police conducted their inquiries.
The deceased has now been named as Adam Lawson, 39, who was from the local area. His family have been made aware.
Police Scotland said a 40-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the death of Mr Lawson.
The force said its inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
