An MP has condemned vandals who poured red paint on an armed forces careers office in Aberdeen.
Andrew Bowie, who served in the Royal Navy, said he was “disgusted” by the “sickening attack” on the property in Belmont Street.
Police Scotland confirmed they are investigating the incident.
Mr Bowie, the Tory MP for West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine, said: “This despicable attack on our British armed forces careers office is sickening.
“The recruitment office in Aberdeen is where I joined the Royal Navy so it is close to my heart, and I am disgusted at the disrespect shown by the individuals who did this.
“Our British armed forces personnel are an inspiration to our nation, and are crucial in protecting our country during times of crisis.
“They are currently working round the clock to protect our lives and best interests, serving in very challenging circumstances.
“Vandalism like this is vulgar and totally reprehensible.
“We must stop tolerating these groups of people that seek to undermine our society.
“I hope the mindless individuals responsible are caught and I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch with the police immediately.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Inquiries are ongoing after police were made aware of vandalism to a premises on Belmont Street, Aberdeen.
“Police were notified around 11.30am on Saturday March 21.”
