Two men have died in a two-vehicle crash in the Scottish Borders.
A green Ford Fiesta and a silver Nissan Leaf collided on the A6098 Edinburgh Road, close to the B6364 junction, near Kelso at around 6.50pm on Wednesday.
Both drivers, aged 35 and 42, were pronounced dead at the scene. No-one else was injured.
The road was closed while police launched an investigation, and it reopened at 1.30am on Thursday.
Police Scotland Sergeant Jamie Humpage said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of both the men at this extremely difficult time, and our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this collision.
“I am appealing to anyone who was driving in the area at the time or saw either vehicle prior to the crash to please come forward and speak with officers.
“I’d also ask that those with dashcam footage or CCTV please review this to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 101, referencing incident number 2926 of April 8.
