A 74-year-old man who died after he was struck by a car in a Dundee suburb has been named as John Bell.
Mr Bell, who was known as Jack, was hit by an allegedly stolen red Maserati Quattraporte at about 1pm on Monday on Forthill Road, in the Broughty Ferry area of the city.
It is understood the car left the road, crashing into a garden.
Mr Bell was pronounced dead at the scene and his family have asked for privacy.
The alleged driver of the car, Fraser Garden, 55, was taken to hospital for treatment and released.
He was later charged with causing death by dangerous driving, car theft, and attempting to pervert the course of justice, among other charges.
Mr Garden, of no fixed address, made no plea when he appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Anyone with information has been asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1405 of Monday April 13.
