Investigation launched after man, 40, found seriously hurt in Glasgow street

Police are looking for two suspects in relation to attack in Glasgow which left a man seriously injured.

Emergency services were called to reports of a 40-year-old man found seriously injured in Guthrie Street in the Maryhill area of the city on Saturday at about 5.45am.

He was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he was treated for life-threatening injuries. Medical staff have described his condition as stable.

Officers said they are looking for two men in connection with the attack which they are treating as attempted murder.

Both suspects are white; one man has a stocky build and was dressed in all black; while the other is slim and was wearing a white jacket with possibly a Just Eat logo and a yellow cap.

Detective Sergeant Stephen Palmer, Maryhill CID, said: “I would ask if you recognise these men from the descriptions or were in the Maryhill area around the time of the incident and saw anyone acting suspicious, that you come forward and speak to police.

“Any motorists who have dashcam footage that could assist with our inquiries, please get in touch.”

Anyone with an information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 0725 of Saturday November 19.

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.
