Another strike from League One’s leading scorer Louie Barry was not enough for the win as Stockport were held 1-1 at Rotherham.
Barry, playing the penultimate game of his loan spell from Aston Villa, scored his 15th goal of the season in the first half before Hakeem Odoffin levelled.
Barry looked menacing from the start as he scampered away down the left and forced a save from Dillon Phillips.
Joe Powell’s free-kick from distance was deflected just wide.
The breakthrough came in the 13th minute when Barry drifted infield to latch onto Ibou Touray’s pass before smashing the ball beyond Phillips’ reach from the edge of the box.
Rotherham replied in the 19th minute when Liam Kelly’s mishit shot bounced kindly into the path of Odoffin to guide in.
Stockport dominated the second half, with Callum Connolly firing just off target.
Odoffin was then in the right place at the right time to make a goal-saving block from Barry.
Odin Bailey’s effort in added-on time took a big deflection and trickled through to Phillips.
