Stockport reeled off their fourth consecutive league win to boost their play-off hopes by beating fellow hopefuls Leyton Orient 1-0 at Brisbane Road.
Kyle Wootton scored the decisive goal in the 14th minute as Stockport became the first visiting team to score at Brisbane Road in six league matches.
The goal came following a disputed free-kick and when O’s midfielder Jordan Brown made a poor clearance, the ball was deflected into Wootton’s path and he netted from close range.
County bossed the game from that point, with Isaac Olaofe twice going close.
Orient finally found some spark late on in the second period and Charlie Kelman glanced an effort narrowly wide but the visitors’ defence remained resolute to protect their slender lead.
