Josh Stokes scored a spectacular equaliser seven minutes from time to earn struggling Cambridge a 1-1 draw with 10-man Wycombe.
Stokes wriggled his way across the box before curling the ball beyond Franco Ravizzoli to earn his side a share of the spoils.
The on-loan Bristol City man had earlier seen a penalty saved by Ravizzoli after Wycombe’s Sonny Bradley was shown a red card for an apparent elbow on Michael Morrison.
Cameron Humphreys put Wycombe in front in the 35th minute, following up to score after keeper Jack Stevens had spilled Beryly Lubala’s shot.
Wycombe missed chances to extend their lead before Cambridge were handed a lifeline in the 65th minute.
Bradley fouled Morrison as a corner came into the box and referee Martin Woods pointed to the spot. Bradley was dismissed and Stokes saw his spot-kick pushed on to the bar by Ravizzoli.
However, the Cambridge midfielder made amends by grabbing the equaliser and it took a fine save from Ravizzoli in stoppage time to deny James Brophy a winning goal for the home side.
