York still alive in automatic hunt but suffer costly slip against Oldham

York just about remain in the hunt for automatic promotion after playing out a 1-1 National League draw with Oldham at LNER Community Stadium.

The Minstermen needed to avoid a loss if they wanted to keep alive any chances of catching league leaders Barnet, who beat Sutton 3-1.

Joe Felix broke the deadlock for the hosts in the 31st minute, drilling a low strike from outside the 18-yard box.

But the home side had to settle for a single point after Oldham equalised with 20 minutes remaining in the second half when Charlie Raglan nodded in a corner.

York now trail Barnet by six points with two games remaining and will need a substantial swing to avoid the play-offs.
