Grimsby made it five League Two games unbeaten but were ruing missed chances in their 1-1 draw with Accrington.
Jaze Kabia opened the scoring for the Mariners and they squandered a one-on-one opportunity and had a penalty saved before Tyler Walton levelled for Stanley, who are still looking for their first league win.
Charlie Brown hit the base of the post on nine minutes for the home side before Grimsby opened the scoring after 26 minutes.
A Reece Staunton free-kick was fired home by Kabia from close range.
It should have been two after 32 minutes when Evan Khouri got the ball one-on-one but his first shot was saved by keeper Ollie Wright and he blazed the rebound over the bar.
Five minutes after the re-start, the Mariners were awarded a penalty when Farrend Rawson fouled Harvey Rodgers and Wright dived to his right to save Kabia’s spot-kick.
They were made to pay for their missed chances after 65 minutes when Alex Henderson volleyed a drop ball into the area and it was headed home by Walton.
