Rochdale bounced back from Saturday’s National League defeat at Brackley to beat Sutton 1-0 at the Crown Oil Arena.
Emmanuel Dieseruvwe steered home the only goal in the 50th minute to extend the visitors’ winless start to the campaign.
Kyron Gordon headed an early chance over the bar for the hosts before a Sam Beckwith drive was brilliant saved by Sutton goalkeeper Jack Sims.
Rochdale’s pressure paid off when Dieseruvwe fired home from Harvey Gilmour’s neat-lay off and the hosts saw the game out with the minimum of fuss.
