Ten-man Plymouth claimed their first away victory of the season as they won 3-2 at Luton in Sky Bet League One.
The Pilgrims took the lead after just 15 minutes in this Kenilworth Road clash of two teams relegated from the Championship last season when Matthew Sorinola headed home from close range.
Luton were not behind for long though. Brendan Wiredu fouled Lasse Nordas in the box five minutes later and Jerry Yates converted the penalty to level the scores.
Argyle led again in first half stoppage time, Bradley Ibrahim robbing Nelson just outside his area and slamming the ball beyond Josh Keeley.
After the break Luton had their second penalty of the game when Millenic Alli’s cross saw Sorinola foul Gideon Kodua and Nahki Wells, only just on as a half time substitute, made it 2-2 in the 48th minute.
It went from bad to worse for the visitors as skipper Joe Edwards was sent with 50 minutes gone for a rash sliding challenge on Alli.
However, Plymouth grabbed the game’s decisive fifth goal, taking the lead for a third time in the 75th minute.
Seconds after visiting boss Tom Cleverley had been sent off, a corner caused havoc and Jordan Clark’s clearance hit Ibrahim before rebounding into the net for what proved to be the winner.
