Reyes Cleary scores from own half as Barnsley draw at Bradford

Reyes Cleary scored a sensational goal from his own half as Barnsley twice came from behind in a 2-2 draw at Bradford.

The Bantams would have gone top with a win but dropped their first home points since going up from League Two.

Bradford needed only nine minutes to take the lead in a frenzied atmosphere with Antoni Sarcevic pouncing on the rebound after Calum Kavanagh’s shot was parried.

Joe Wright went close to a second before Barnsley levelled with a moment of brilliance from Cleary, who spotted home keeper Sam Walker off his line to beat him with a soaring shot from 60 yards.

Bradford went back in front just before half-time. Stephen Humphrys’ header was flicked onto the bar by Jonathan Bland but the Bradford striker struck straight after from Max Power’s free-kick.

Kavanagh’s goal-bound lob was cleared off the line by Barnsley defender Jack Shepherd, who won promotion on loan with Bradford last season.

Barnsley levelled for a second time through substitute Patrick Kelly before Adam Phillips crashed a shot against the Bradford bar.
