A last-gasp wonder strike from Finley Munroe clinched Swindon’s first win for over a month as they beat Tranmere 2-1 to stay joint top of Sky Bet League Two.
After the left-back’s cross was cut out he drove at the box and let fly with his right foot into the far corner in the third minute of stoppage time.
Tranmere edged a nervous first half. Connor Ripley did well to save Connor Jennings hard strike from an acute angle from point-blank range.
Seconds before the break Joe Murphy reacted smartly to tip over a dipping Darren Oldaker free-kick.
Town opened the scoring in the 74th minute with a quick counter when Ollie Palmer blasted home the rebound from Princewell Ehibatiomhan’s effort.
James Ball nearly doubled the lead with a low volley but Murphy scrambled across just in time.
Rovers levelled after a weak clearance landed right in the path of Jayden Joseph who struck a post with a fierce shot before Kristian Dennis followed up to slot home in the 88th minute.
But Aston Villa loanee notched Munroe notched his first ever EFL goal to bag the win.
