Rotherham manager Matt Hamshaw revelled in what he called a “real good day for the club” as his team pulled off a 3-0 demolition of Lincoln.
The Millers are defying an injury crisis at the back to pull off a string of impressive results.
That continued against the Imps with a convincing display which took them to six league games unbeaten.
Hamshaw said: “I try not to get too high or too low, but it’s hard not to get too high after that performance.
“I just felt, without getting too cheesy, that the club felt united in all the stands and we have given the fans everything this season.
“I thought they responded and it was a real good day for the football club.
“Lincoln are a real good team with good characters and players, and I thought that they did not pose us as many problems as they might do, and that was down to us.
“As performances go, it was really good, but we have got to keep the consistency levels.
“Everybody is a bit less fatigued when you’re winning.
“We are on a good run and have been really good at home. We are not so bad away but we need to be better away.
“We are pleased with the levels we are getting to and the players are giving their all.”
Rotherham netted two great goals in the first half.
The first came in 10 minutes from Reece James lashing in from the edge of the box and Ar’Jany Martha went one better when he took down Joe Powell’s corner and smashed an unstoppable strike into the top corner in the 31st minute.
Denzel Hall buried into the bottom corner to make it 3-0 after 59 minutes.
Martin Sherif could have made it even more emphatic but his lobbed effort bounced narrowly off target.
Lincoln head coach Michael Skubala was disappointed with what he felt was an uncharacteristic performance.
He said: “It was completely not us. That’s the reality.
“In the first 20 minutes we were passive and letting things drop and not getting to things.
“We looked tired and we turned the ball over too cheaply. We have got to find a way to not do that.
“We have to get to the ball quicker (for the first goal). Being passive can be through energy, but also mentality. It’s a soft goal.
“We were second best in that moment.
“There are one or two players offside for the second goal.
“I don’t think the ref had the best performance at all but we have got some work to do for sure.
“We have hit form that we are not pleased with and we knew it was going to be tough on the road, but we wanted to pick more points up.”
