Lincoln boss Michael Skubala insists there is no chance of him getting carried away, despite his side going joint top of League One.
The Imps edged a gritty contest at home to Doncaster 2-1 to move level on points and goal difference with Stockport, who lead the way on goals scored.
“It’s great for fans to get excited and they can really enjoy it,” Skubala said.
“But my job is to keep level and focused. Let the fans enjoy it. We just want to keep churning the wins out.
“I loved us first half. I thought we were amazing and I thought we could have been two or three-nil up.
“There was a header (disallowed) from Rob Street that for me wasn’t a foul. But we were so dominant and exciting.
“And then in the second half maybe we just went a bit safe and let them get back in.
“But the character to come back and get that second goal – this is a special group and they dig deep.
“The context of the game is that Doncaster are chasing it and there’s no structure to it and it becomes a bit random, but we dug in to get the three points.”
A first-half header from Frankie Okoronkwo put the hosts in front in the 31st minute.
Doncaster substitute Brandon Hanlan fired home a terrific 70th-minute equaliser, his first league goal for Rovers, but the hosts retook the lead in comical fashion moments later.
A Lincoln long throw caused havoc in the box as Rovers failed to clear their lines and the ball ended up ricocheting off Rovers substitute Robbie Gotts and trickling into the net.
Doncaster boss Grant McCann, whose side have now failed to win in nine league games, said: “We’re disappointed to lose again, but nobody wants to hear the hard luck stories. Ultimately we’ve lost.
“We’re creating enough chances in every game, but we’re not taking enough of them.
“But I’m not going to cry about it. I’m a big enough man to stand here and take criticism that comes my way because we’ve not won enough games of late.
“But what I can see is a team running, fighting and working. We’ve come to a good team here today and gone toe-to-toe, but we’re just not getting the breaks.
“But we’re fighting so hard to turn the tide and get us moving in the right direction.”
