Olly Crankshaw came off the bench to fire Altrincham to a late 4-2 victory over Scunthorpe in Neil Gibson’s first game since being appointed permanent manager.
Scunthorpe took the lead when Carlton Ubaezuonu lashed home an overhead kick in the 13th minute but Tom Crawford headed Altrincham level after 34 minutes.
The Iron regained the lead on the hour mark when Alfie Beestin slotted home after a fine pass from Tyler Denton before Matty Kosylo equalised for Altrincham with two minutes remaining.
Substitute Crankshaw then scored twice in added time to seal a remarkable comeback for Gibson, who initially replaced Phil Parkinson as Altrincham boss on an interim basis last month.
