Accrington substitute Josh Woods scored a 90th-minute winner to overcome managerless Barrow 2-1 as the Bluebirds slumped to a nine-game run without a Sky Bet League Two victory.
Stanley dominated early on and came close in the 15th minute when goalkeeper Wyll Stanway pushed out Isaac Sinclair’s strike but Connor O’Brien’s follow-up was over the bar.
The home side continued to press and Shaun Whalley’s looping effort in the 20th minute had Stanway rushing back to stop the ball crossing the line.
Stanley took the lead in the 30th minute when, after pressing around the box, defender Benn Ward got the ball 25yards out, raced forward and fired low into the far corner of the net.
Barrow levelled in the 41st minute when Ben Whitfield’s low shot hit a post and bounced out to Charlie McCann who blasted the ball home.
The game was played at a frantic pace after the restart.
It was agony for Barrow’s interim boss Neil McDonald as, in the 83rd minute, Josh Gordon squandered a superb chance from close range, firing over the bar.
Then Whalley’s free-kick was headed home by Woods to secure victory for Stanley.
