Chesterfield secured an important 2-0 victory over Notts County, with both goals coming in the second half, to draw level on points with their promotion rivals.
Lee Bonis struck first with his sixth goal in as many games, with County keeper Kelle Roos turning the ball into his own net for the second goal.
It was a largely uneventful first half with neither keeper tested. Chesterfield’s Ronan Darcy tried a shot but it went wide of the target.
The home side make the breakthrough in the 65th minute when Darcy’s drive was saved by Roos and Bonis pounced on the rebound, firing into the net.
It was 2-0 in the 76th minute when Liam Mandeville sent over a corner and Roos, under pressure from Kyle McFadzean, could only help the ball into the net at the near post.
County never threatened to make a game of it with Chesterfield keeper Zach Hemming mainly a spectator as they failed to find a way through the home defence.
