Relegation-battling Burton completed a double over promotion-chasing Bradford as Alex Hartridge and Tyrese Shade goals secured a 2-1 home victory for Gary Bowyer’s side.
Victory pushed the Brewers four points away from the bottom four in League One as fourth-placed Bradford suffered a seventh defeat in their last eight away games.
The first half was a lively affair with chances at both ends.
Tyreik Wright and Bobby Pointon went close for the Bantams before Albion’s Jake Beesley twice had good chances, firstly blocked inside the box and then denied when a well-hit volley was somehow deflected over the crossbar by Matthew Pennington.
Albion went in front in the 41st minute when Bradford goalkeeper Sam Walker was unable to keep out Hartridge’s header from a George Evans free-kick.
And Albion were 2-0 up after 58 minutes as Toby Sibbick saw his shot blocked on the edge of the box but was able to get the ball to Shade who found the bottom corner.
Burton keeper Bradley Collins made an excellent save from a Stephen Humphrey’s free-kick as time began to run out for the Bantams.
Wright slotted home early in stoppage time from Lee Evans’ pass but Albion held on.
