Luton made it three wins from four matches by beating Peterborough 2-1 at Kenilworth Road.
The Hatters went close early on when Emilio Lawrence blazed over and Nahki Wells saw an attempt charged down, while Posh also threatened, with Jimmy Jay-Morgan slamming over.
Town led after 20 minutes when Kal Naismith’s pass was collected by an alert Jake Richards and he slipped the ball through the legs of goalkeeper Alex Bass.
Archie Collins fired off target before the visitors were awarded a dubious penalty in the 35th minute.
Harry Leonard dinked the ball over goalkeeper Josh Keeley only to see Hakeem Odoffin clear off the line. Referee Isaac Searle whistled for a foul on the attacker and Leonard’s spot-kick was easily saved by the keeper.
After the break, Luton doubled their lead in the 50th minute as Lawrence’s cross was slid into the net by Jordan Clark.
The Hatters should have led 3-0, with Davy van den Berg skying over, as Town then saw their advantage halved after 75 minutes when Kyrell Lisbie’s cross was headed in by Jay-Morgan.
Kasey Palmer was somehow denied a penalty after being tugged back when clean through in the closing stages as Searle waved his appeals away.
