Boreham Wood ease to victory at relegated Morecambe

Abdul Abdulmalik’s 13th goal of the season set Boreham Wood on course for a 3-0 success away to relegated Morecambe in the Enterprise National League.

Abdulmalik opened the scoring in the 27th minute, collecting a pass from Zak Brunt to cut inside and beat Shrimps goalkeeper Jamal Blackman.

The fourth-placed visitors, who had guaranteed a play-off spot ahead of kick-off, threatened to double their lead through Brunt and top scorer Matt Rush.

Morecambe’s hopes of avoiding a fifth defeat in seven games were eventually ended in the 90th minute when Joe Newton shot low past Blackman, before fellow substitute Lewis Richardson added another deep into added time by firing into the top-left corner from distance.
