Tipperary's Liam Sheedy to compere Ormond Octaves concert for St Cronan's Day Services
It has just been announced that Liam Sheedy, the former Tipperary hurler and manager who guided the county to two All-Ireland senior hurling victories, will be compere at the big concert night being held in aid of St Cronan’s Day Services in the Catholic church in Roscrea on Friday night, February 17.
Liam, who was manager when Tipp lifted the McCarthy Cup in 2010 and 2019, and who won a National League medal as a player himself, is hoping for many other high notes on Friday week during what is expected to be a memorial concert featuring the Ormond Octaves Choir and special guests, including Glór Tíre competition winner and country singer Aishling Rafferty.
The 60-member choir from Nenagh, which drew a record attendance to its recent amazing sellout Christmas charity concert in a packed St Mary of the Rosary Church in Nenagh, and Aisling Rafferty will be joined by choirs from four primary schools in Roscrea: Scoil Eoin NS, Scoil Mhuire, Lismakin, Dromakeenan NS, Gael Scoil Shlí Dála as well as Rose Lineen and Linda De Lewis from St Cronan's Services.
Tickets (€20) for the concert are available at the the parish offices in Roscrea, Birr and Templemore. They are also available in the Cinnamon Alley café in Nenagh and in the Bookworm in Thurles.
