Nenagh actor Daryl McCormack is set to appear in what is tipped to be one of this Summer’s biggest blockbusters, ‘Twisters’, directed by Lee Isaac Chung.

‘Twisters’ is a standalone sequel to the 1996 film Twister and stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell, Anthony Ramos, Brandon Perea, Maura Tierney, and Sasha Lane.

The disaster movie will see Daisy Edgar-Jones’ Kate Cooper lured back into the tornado-chasing game after a previous catastrophe saw her quit the thrills. She then meets Glen Powell’s Tyler Owens and the two take on the tornado together.

Daryl McCormack plays Jeb, the boyfriend of Daisy Edgar Jones’ character and a member of a storm chasing team.

The film, which has an estimated budget of $200 million dollars, premiered in London earlier this month ahead of its wide release this Friday.

Reviews from critics who had the chance to catch the preview screenings of the film seem mostly positive so far.

In their review of the new movie, film magazine, Empire, has said “The concept of upgrading a tornado may seem like a strange one, but the sequel pulls it off with visual flourishes that range from terrifying to outrageously good fun.”

The film is showing in the Irish cinemas starting this Friday. It will screen this Friday in the Nenagh Omniplex at 2pm, 5pm and 8pm.

Fans of Daryl McCormack have a number of films to look forward to in the near future as he has recently been cast in what are sure to be two big hits.

He was cast alongside Daniel Craig, Josh O’Connor and Glen Close in the third film in the popular ‘Knives Out’ franchise titled ‘Wake Up Dead Man’. The film has a 2025 release date.

He will also star in the upcoming animated film ‘Rogue Trooper’, directed by Duncan Jones, who is the son of David Bowie.

This film is a comic book adaptation and is expected to use the experimental Unreal Engine 5 animating tool to bring its characters to life.
